I can't believe we've already been back for a week from our trip to London & Ireland (insert multiple crying emojis). Our trip was 10 days but I feel like I blinked & it was already over!!
One of the first stops we made after landing in Ireland from London was the Giant's Causeway. You DO have to pay to get in, however if you arrive late enough (like we did!) you can waltz right in & explore this natural beauty at zero expense.
The Giant's Causeway is a large area made up of these vertical stone columns that are the result of a volcano erupting years ago (we're talking super ancient). HOWEVER.....Irish legend has it that an Irish giant built this causeway from Ireland to Scotland to walk across so he could fight another giant that challenged him. I think I'm still more intrigued by how many giants were around so many year ago and here I am standing tall at 5'5.
I definitely recommend seeing this area if you're in Northern Ireland (doesn't hurt to see Bushmills either & taste some whiskey from the Bushmills factory, which is close by :) ). It'd be a great place to bring some food & wine and sit for a bit.....as long as the Irish weather doesn't catch up with you!
